Human Rights Campaign Minnesota is the volunteer-driven state steering committee of the national Human Rights Campaign, not a separate organization, and it works to advance LGBTQ+ equality within Minnesota. The steering committee runs program committees covering fundraising, community engagement, membership, volunteer recruitment and political action, including work to elect pro-equality candidates and build relationships with local businesses and allied groups. Volunteers gain experience in public speaking, event planning and advocacy while helping educate Minnesotans on issues affecting LGBTQ+ people and their families. People get involved by volunteering through the committee's community hub or by contacting the committee directly.
