Beyond the metro

St. Paul doesn’t have a standing weekly drag brunch right now, and most of greater Minnesota’s drag brunches are one-offs tied to a city’s Pride weekend (Mankato and Rochester both do them). Those land on the calendar when organizers post them, and your favorite spot’s Instagram and Facebook are the other place to catch them. Hosting one? Add it to the calendar; listing is free.

Good to know before you go

What is a drag brunch?

A daytime drag show with brunch service. Performers lip-sync, dance and work the room while you eat, usually about an hour of show inside a two-hour seating.

What should I wear to a drag brunch?

Whatever you want, but themed rounds reward effort. Sequins, a costume for a Hocus Pocus round, your Eras era. You will not be overdressed.

Should I bring cash?

Yes. Tipping the performers is expected, and it helps keep the shows running. Bring small bills and tip the queens during their numbers.

How far ahead should I book?

Drag brunches often sell out quickly, so check dates, themes, times and locations early: a week or two for regular rounds, longer for themed rounds, Pride weekend and holidays.

Are there all-ages drag brunches?

Some brunches are family friendly, others are recommended for 13 and up or limited to 18+ or 21+, so confirm the age policy before buying tickets. LUSH posts all-ages dates, Roxy’s admits under-18s with an adult, Chanhassen is recommended for 13 and up, POWER’s shows are open to everyone with PG-13 humor, and Flip Phone rounds vary by event.

Is the food included?

Usually not. Most tickets cover the show and you order brunch à la carte; some POWER events include a food and drink credit. Chanhassen’s listing doesn’t say, so check at purchase.
