Author Dr. René Esparza (’17 PhD, American Studies) presents from his book, From Vice to Nice: Midwestern Politics and the Gentrification of AIDS. Dr. Elliott Powell of the Dept. of American Studies moderates a conversation afterward, ending with audience Q&A.
The talk looks at race, sexuality, public health and urban politics in the Twin Cities. It’s the first event in the College of Liberal Arts’ new Making Minnesota series.
