Mannakin Theater & Dance stages Lanford Wilson’s 1964 one-act about Leslie Bright, an aging drag queen alone in a New York City rooming house on a hot summer evening, confronting loneliness, memory and the fear of growing old. This production puts dance on equal footing with drama: the Boy and Girl who haunt Leslie’s memories are performed by local dancers. Nathan Cottam directs, choreographs and plays Leslie.
Performances: Fri Oct 16 7:30 PM; Sat Oct 17 7:30 PM; Fri Oct 23 7:30 PM; Sat Oct 24 7:30 PM; Sun Oct 25 3:00 PM. Running time about 75 minutes.
Tickets $25 to $70.
